"From attachment springs desire, from desire anger, from anger bewilderment, from bewilderment confusion of memory, from that the destruction of reason — and from the destruction of reason, a person is lost." (BG 2:62-63)
The chain doesn't start with anger. It starts with dwelling. This is the most precise description of emotional self-destruction ever written.
The key insight: anger is never a primary emotion. You're only ever angry about something you wanted or were trying to protect. Work on the desire, not just the outburst.
The Gita's prescription isn't suppression — suppressed anger builds pressure. It's titiksha: feeling the full sensation without being commanded by it. In the gap between stimulus and response lies your freedom.
