The Bhagavad Gita addresses death before any other teaching. Directly, without softening it. Because if the fear of death is still running underneath everything, nothing else can be properly heard.

"Just as a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, similarly, the soul accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones." (BG 2:22)

You are not your clothes. You care for them, you identify with them for a while, and then you let them go — and you're still there. That's what the Gita says the soul does with the body.

"The soul can never be cut by weapons, never burned by fire, never moistened by water, never dried by wind." (BG 2:23) — recited at funerals across India for thousands of years.

Whatever state of being you remember at your last moment, that state you attain. (BG 8:6) — this is why daily practice matters. The Arutra app's daily verse and Saarthi AI are for building exactly this daily quality of consciousness.
