Lord Murugan's sacred black wood, on your wrist wherever you go

In the temples of Tamil Nadu, karungali, the deep black ebony, has been held sacred for generations. Devotees believe it carries the strength of Lord Murugan's Vel, and those who seek his courage and protection have long kept it close.
Not everyone can sit with a full mala every day. This bracelet is for the days you step out: to work, to college, on a journey. It is the same sacred wood, finished with silver-plated accents and made to stay with you, so that a small touch of the beads can bring you back to Him in the middle of a busy day.
Wear it, and your faith goes wherever you go. Devotees who wear karungali on the wrist speak of:
For everyday wear, for anyone walking through a Mangal or Shani phase, and a meaningful gift for someone you love.
These are traditional beliefs, lovingly kept, and not guaranteed results.
The first time: on a Tuesday (Mangal's day, sacred to Murugan) or Skanda Shashti; if you wear it for Shani, begin on a Saturday:
Which hand: traditionally men wear it on the right wrist and women on the left. If your family or guru follows a different custom, follow that.
Through the day: whenever you have a quiet moment, turn the beads one by one with a short mantra. It is a small japa you can do anywhere.
The fit: 8 mm beads on strong elastic that fits most wrists, about 6 to 7.5 inches. Roll it on over your hand instead of pulling it wide, and the elastic will last much longer.
Care for it the way you care for your practice: gently, every day.
Many stores sell karungali. Here is what you get only with Arutra:
Is a karungali bracelet good for Mangal dosha?
In Vedic astrology, yes. Through its bond with Lord Murugan, lord of Mangal, karungali is one of the most widely worn traditional remedies for Mangal (Chevvai) dosha; begin on a Tuesday. Many also wear it through Sade Sati and Shani Mahadasha, beginning on a Saturday.
Which hand should I wear it on?
Traditionally, the right wrist for men and the left for women. Many people simply wear it on the hand that feels right; follow your family's custom if you have one.
How do I know it's genuine?
Look closely: real ebony is natural wood, so no two beads share the exact grain or shade. Rub one bead on a damp white cloth: genuine karungali leaves no colour. And scan the QR on your card to see this batch's lab report and packing video.
Can I wear it with my mala or rudraksha?
Yes. Many devotees wear a karungali bracelet every day and keep a karungali mala for japa, and it is often paired with rudraksha.
Can I sleep or bathe with it on?
We'd suggest taking it off, as water and friction wear the elastic and dull the wood over time.
